StudyWorld presentations: Future insights on UK ELT

On Monday afternoon from 16:00 to 18:00, join us for a series of presentations from English UK, VisitBritain, British Council and BONARD.

Help us become the world’s premier ELT destination again

Join Sue Young, Naadiya Rawat and Huan Japes for an update on our lobbying activities that aim to secure the best possible operating environment for UK English language schools. They will highlight English UK’s main campaigns, including ID Card travel for EU school groups, the extension of youth mobility schemes and work rights for language students. They will talk about their successes to date and the work still to do. 2024 is an election year in the UK so they will share what they would and would not like to see from a future government.

Inbound tourism, future outlook and perceptions of Britain

Anna Harris, VisitBritain

This session will cover the latest UK inbound tourism trends, forecasts and insights. They will share the current inbound performance by flight arrivals, present the most recent forecasted growth markets and highlight the audiences driving the recovery to date.

This data-driven session will touch upon those visiting the UK primarily to study, as well as provide an overview of the current perceptions of Britain within the global international tourism market.

British Council Certificate and training for agents and the AQF

Helen Obaje, British Council

Helen will outline how the UK agent and counsellor training and engagement hub fits within the UK Quality Agent Framework.

The presentation covers registration, content and the global database of agents and counsellors, highlighting the features requested by agents and counsellors. She will also outline the latest developments in the framework.

UK ELT – where we are now and where we are headed

Ivana Bartosik, BONARD

As the year 2023 concluded, the recovery of the ELT sector remains uneven across destinations, yet generally positive. This session will delve into the UK’s standing within the global ELT landscape and provide insights into what to anticipate in 2024. Ivana will examine the performance of various source markets, identifying areas of growth and pinpointing where the opportunities lie.

Fam trips

Two fam trips for agents will depart after StudyWorld, taking agents to visit English language centres in Central South England and the North of England.
