StudyWorld China 2025: Optimism And Opportunities

StudyWorld China 2025: optimism and opportunities

Contracts were signed and students booked within days of this year’s multi-city StudyWorld China workshop, which brought together over 150 agents, 29 UK education providers and two service providers across Beijing, Wuhan and Guangzhou.

Positive outlook
Annie Wright, English UK’s acting joint chief executive, noted: “There was a lot of positivity for the future of the Chinese market after a slow year. Agents and educators were keen to build contacts and book
courses. While no one expects a full rebound next year, there’s cautious optimism and strong enthusiasm for the UK.”

Many members maximised the event by adding their own meetings, and agent feedback praised networking opportunities and visa updates. Insights will help shape StudyWorld China 2026.

Agent feedback and trends
Eleven agencies reported signing contracts with up to four schools and five had already sent students. Nearly 30 agents began promoting UK programmes. Agent suggestions included that educators provide
newsletters, brochures and research local demand. Over 60% of educators felt more confident, and 89% made valuable connections.

Tregarran Percival, chair of English UK’s Enterprises Board, highlighted evolving trends: “Summer schools are shifting away from General English. Agents want added value and are cautious about forecasts, focusing on realistic numbers and strong partnerships.”

Event highlights
Delivered with BONARD Education, the event featured market briefings, UKVI updates, networking lunches and support from the British Council and Department for Business and Trade. Feedback praised seamless organisation and excellent coordination.
