Former Olympian tells StudyWorld London 2012 delegates the secrets of success
Wednesday 4 July 2012
Do you want to know how to win? StudyWorld participants get the chance to find out this year, thanks to our extra-special speaker, former Olympic high-jumper Geoff Parsons.
Geoff's insights into the secrets of success - and why failure is an important part of it - will be the highlight of the StudyWorld London 2012 seminar programme.
"From selling, to networking, through to your personal life, the basic tools of success are 'simple', but that doesn't mean easy! It’s also a very competitive world out there, so just because you 'try' doesn’t mean you deserve to win.
'Simple' also doesn’t mean comfortable, either physically or mentally and yet success at anything invariably means adapting to discomfort," says Geoff, who's going to talk about how to succeed in business as well as the Olympics.
"We're really excited about hearing Geoff's secrets this year, and I'm sure it's going to put everyone into the right frame of mind to do good business for the rest of the event," says Siobhan Baccas, StudyWorld organiser.
Other confirmed speakers include Erica Thurbon of the UK Border Agency, who will talk about visas, including recent changes to the student route, common reasons for refusals, and the UKBA's commitment to the education sector.
Another useful session will provide an overview of the UK's 350 further education and sixth form colleges, which provide a wide range of world class programmes to both vocational and academic students and work closely with agents to increase the opportunities for international students to experience the unique experience they offer.
And sessions of interest to all businesses will include Gavin Attard's talk on producing digital media, and Veronica Broomes' session on how coaching can help managers to build high-performing teams.
The seminar programme takes place in the Hilton Meeting Rooms on the afternoon of Monday 3 September between 14:00 and 18:00.
