Why Attend StudyWorld London

StudyWorld educator experience: attend without a table

2017 was an amazing year for StudyWorld. We transformed our much-loved event into an international trade fair, focusing on the full sweep of UK education, moved to a prestigious new venue, and created some innovative new ways to participate for educators, including the option to attend without a table.

How did our innovations work for delegates?

Over 60 educator delegates chose to attend without a table at StudyWorld 2017.  This new no-table pass includes access to Marcom eSchedule PRO for meetings, but all appointments start at a meeting point before continuing in a seating or refreshment area.

Several delegates mentioned attending without a table when asked what they liked best about the event in the feedback. One said they especially liked “the possibility to obtain a more cost effective mobile appointment schedule.” And several others praised the way in which more connections were being made as people walked around.

Among the educators who took this option were David Simons, director of English language centre Golders Green College and Ben Delaney of Malvern House. Both were very happy with the experience.

“It’s been one of the best days I’ve had at a fair”

“It’s been one of the best days I’ve had at a fair,” said Ben, adding: “It’s been really good to have this possibility to roam around and have a more relaxed feel.”

David said: “I’m enjoying it more than a table. It keeps me getting exercise and the chairs are comfortable. I like the movement, and the five minutes between appointments is just right. It’s been fantastic.”

The pair both liked the routine of meeting their agent or buyer, then finding seats where they could talk somewhere on the StudyWorld floor of the QEII Centre, usually at refreshment points or close to where they met. “The agents are quite happy to meet and wander around for a little. I think they’ve enjoyed a different theme. Even if I have a table I tend to sit at the side of them for the appointment,” said Ben.

David said 100% of his appointments had turned up; “25 in one day – that’s really good.” He was also pleased with the agents. “They are good quality, serious people,” he said.

Both educators liked the other changes to StudyWorld too. “There’s a lot of energy and I think everyone has enjoyed the UK focus. Everyone you speak to is a useful conversation,” said Ben.

David added: “The British theme was a masterstroke. British-only is great – it means the people are really interested in you. You can’t get more prestigious than the QEII Centre. The toilets were good, the food is excellent, lunch was just right, security was good with people on the front door. The whole experience was great.”
