Siobhán runs StudyWorld London. She plans the event and publicises the event, and looks after agents and exhibitors, administration and marketing communications with support from Louise.
Siobhán also travels extensively representing StudyWorld and English UK, and is involved in our other international and promotional activities.
Siobhán, who is learning French, worked for an audio and multimedia guide company before joining English UK in 2007. She became interested in events through her experience of working with organisers of trade fairs and exhibitions. She has a degree in Tourism & Hospitality Management, plays the flute, and loves reading detective fiction.
Market Development Officer
Louise supports Siobhán in the organisation of StudyWorld London. She is the key event contact for educators and promotes StudyWorld at events all over the world.
You will also meet Louise on her travels for English UK and in her work for our other international and promotional activities.
Before joining English UK in 2014, Louise worked at a media planning agency in London and then as an English teacher in Brazil.
Louise studied Management and Spanish at the University of Leeds and developed a passion for Latin American culture during her year of study in Buenos Aires. She speaks Spanish, Portuguese & some French.
Roz is probably the best-known member of our staff, because she spent several years as our Membership Manager before joining the international team in 2011, and so is a familiar face to both members and agents.
In her current role, Roz travels and works with members and agents both in the UK and around the world. She is primarily responsible for managing and organising inward missions, market scoping visits and market research, and works with Jodie on the English UK fairs. She has visited almost 20 countries on English UK business so far and is a familiar face for agents all over the world.
Before joining English UK’s predecessor organisation ARELS in 2003, Roz worked in Japan as an ELT language assistant for three years before gaining her Cert TESOL and teaching in private language schools in Russia and Bournemouth.
Roz has a degree in Geography with Development Studies from the University of St. Mark and St. John in Plymouth.
Marketing Communications Officer
Helen’s primary focus is marketing communications. She is responsible for keeping agents and English UK members up-to-date via our regular e-newsletters, maintaining our websites and administering English UK’s Core Group Statistics Scheme.
She also helps out at StudyWorld London and other English UK Fairs and projects. Before joining English UK in 2014, Helen worked in communications for a grant-making charity in York. She has an MA in Political Philosophy from the University of York and has lived in both the UK and Germany. Helen speaks good German, enjoys reading and travelling.
Sarah has a combined role as a member of the International Team and manager of the special interest groups Business English UK, Young Learners English UK and English UK South West. This, and her excellent knowledge of the Chinese market, have made her the second-best travelled member of the English UK staff, having visited more than 25 countries for work purposes.
A fluent Mandarin and Cantonese speaker, Sarah lived and worked in China before coming to the UK to study for a Master’s degree in Education at Manchester University. She worked as a manager for an international telecoms company before joining English UK in 2005.
Annie has worked in marketing and promotions in the English language teaching sector for over ten years. Before being appointed to the position of Deputy Chief Executive (Business Services) of English UK in 2007, Annie worked as English UK’s Fairs & Events Manager.
Annie runs our international team, which is responsible for StudyWorld London and the English UK Fairs, inward and outward missions, and market scoping as well as marketing communications, promotions, brand management and our website. The team also looks after relationships with agents, including the Partner Agency Scheme.
Annie has overall responsibility for English UK’s brand identity and leads on business development initiatives. She deputises for Tony on all business-related matters and is responsible to the English UK Enterprises Board.
She joined ARELS, one of English UK’s predecessor organisations, in 1999, and was jointly responsible with Chief Executive Tony Millns for rebranding its annual trade event as StudyWorld London. Annie represents English UK at local and international events and missions.
Annie has a degree in Fine Art from the University of Northumbria in Newcastle and a Masters in Arts Policy & Management from Birkbeck, University of London. She is a governor of an inner-London primary school.
